Where Neural Networks in Adult Content Are Heading
Predicting timelines in this field is pointless — the pace outruns the forecasts. The directions, however, are visible clearly enough, and all four have already begun.
1. Production gets cheaper
What five years ago required a studio, a crew and a budget is increasingly done by one person at a computer. The consequence cuts both ways: the barrier falls for everyone, including those who would better stay out. The volume of material grows faster than the capacity to check it.
2. Provenance becomes compulsory
Labelling of synthetic content is moving from voluntary to mandatory. Standards for signing files from camera to publication are developing. Within a few years the question will not be «is this real» but «does the file have a history» — and the absence of one will itself be the answer.
3. Personalisation
Content tailored to an individual viewer is technically possible. This is the most commercially attractive and the most ethically contested direction: the line between personalisation and creating material featuring real people without their knowledge is thinnest here.
4. Rules tighten
Requirements for age verification, documentation and labelling are rising in every jurisdiction at once. Payment systems move the same way and faster than legislators. Working will not become technically harder but noticeably more demanding in terms of procedure.
What does not change
The consent of the person in the frame. Technologies change every year; this requirement does not and will not — it concerns people rather than tools. Everything done with consent will remain possible. Everything done without it will grow steadily more punishable.
